Dr. William Knauer III has been practicing ophthalmology in Jacksonville for over 42 years, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. After receiving his medical degree from the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 1979. Dr. William Knauer III served his residency at Bowman Gray School of Medicine.
He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the Baylor College of Medicine. He has served in various leadership roles within the ophthalmic community during his career, including terms as President of the Duval County
Society of Ophthalmology, President of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology, Chief of Staff at St Vincents Hospital, President of The Rotary Club of Jacksonville, President of The American Eye Study Club, President of the Riverside Hospital Foundation and the President of The Eye Research Foundation.
