Dr. Samuel Homra Named Medical Director for Florida Division of Blind Services

Jacksonville, Florida — Levenson Eye Associates is pleased to announce that Dr. Samuel Homra has been named Medical Director for the Florida Division of Blind Services (DBS Region II).

In this role, Dr. Homra will provide ophthalmic medical expertise and consultation to support DBS in its mission to help individuals with visual impairments maintain independence and achieve their personal and vocational goals.

Dr. Homra brings extensive training and clinical experience in ophthalmology, including specialized expertise in glaucoma, cataract surgery, premium intraocular lenses, and corneal transplantation. He joined Levenson Eye Associates in 2025 and provides care at all Oak Street, Mandarin, Orange Park and Ponte Vedra Beach locations.

Daniel W. O’Connor, M.Ed., CRC, District Administrator for the Florida Division of Blind Services, welcomed Dr. Homra to the role.

Dr. Homra’s appointment also restores a local ophthalmic medical resource for the Jacksonville DBS district. The Division works with medical consultants to provide guidance regarding appropriate eye medical treatment and services for its clients.
